- Product Data: For refrigerants.
- Shop Drawings:
Retain one of first two subparagraphs below. Retain first if Drawings indicate pipe size and layout; retain second to have Contractor size and design refrigeration piping.
- Show layout of refrigerant piping and specialties, including pipe, tube, and fitting sizes; flow capacities; valve arrangements and locations; slopes of horizontal runs; oil traps; double risers; wall and floor penetrations; and equipment connection details.
- Show piping size and piping layout, including oil traps, double risers, specialties, and pipe and tube sizes to accommodate, as a minimum, equipment provided, elevation difference between compressor and evaporator, and length of piping to ensure proper operation and compliance with warranties of connected equipment.
- Show interface and spatial relationships between piping and equipment.

1.6QUALITY ASSURANCE
Retain "Welding Qualifications" Paragraph below if shop or field welding is required. If retaining, also retain "Welding certificates" Paragraph in "Informational Submittals" Article.
- Welding Qualifications: Qualify procedures and personnel according to 2010 ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code: SectionIX, "Welding and Brazing Qualifications."
- Comply with ASHRAE15, "Safety Code for Refrigeration Systems."
- Comply with ASMEB31.5, "Refrigeration Piping and Heat Transfer Components."
1.7PRODUCT STORAGE AND HANDLING
- Store piping with end caps in place to ensure that piping interior and exterior are clean when installed.
1.8WARRANTY

- Manufacturer's Special Warranty on Domestic Products: Conbraco Industries, Inc. warrants products to be free of defects in workmanship or material for a period of five years. This warranty applies to Apollo brand products with "Made in the USA" markings only. Conbraco will correct such defects by suitable repair or replacement at Conbraco's discretion.
- Manufacturer's Special Warranty on International Products: APOLLO INTERNATIONAL products will be free of defects in workmanship or material for a period of two years. Conbraco will correct such defects by suitable repair or replacement at Conbraco's discretion.
- Elkhart Products Corporation warranties our fittings to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of fifty (50) years. The Elkhart Product Corporation Water Heater hoses carry a two (2) year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Any fitting which proves to be defective will be replaced or a credit issued, but no incidental labor charges, expenses or damages will be allowed.

If more than one type of refrigerant is required for Project, retain applicable paragraphs below and indicate on Drawings which piping circuit requires which refrigerant.

- Suction Lines for Air-Conditioning Applications: 115 psig (793 kPa).
- Suction Lines for Heat-Pump Applications: 225 psig (1551 kPa).
- Hot-Gas and Liquid Lines: 225 psig (1551 kPa).
- Line Test Pressure for Refrigerant R-407C:
- Suction Lines for Air-Conditioning Applications: 230 psig (1586 kPa).
- Suction Lines for Heat-Pump Applications: 380 psig (2620 kPa).
- Hot-Gas and Liquid Lines: 380 psig (2620 kPa).
- Line Test Pressure for Refrigerant R-410A:
- Suction Lines for Air-Conditioning Applications: 300 psig (2068 kPa).

2.3STEEL PIPE AND FITTINGS
- Steel Pipe: ASTMA53/A53M, black steel with plain ends; type, grade, and wall thickness as selected in piping application articles.
- Wrought-Steel Fittings: ASTMA234/A234M, for welded joints.
- Steel Flanges and Flanged Fittings: ASMEB16.5, steel, including bolts, nuts, and gaskets, bevel-welded end connection, and raised face.
- Welding Filler Metals: Comply with AWSD10.12M/D10.12 for welding materials appropriate for wall thickness and chemical analysis of steel pipe being welded.
- Flanged Unions:
- Body: Forged-steel flanges for NPS1 to NPS1-1/2 (DN25 to DN40) and ductile iron for NPS2 to NPS3 (DN50 to DN80). Apply rust-resistant finish at factory.
- Gasket: Fiber asbestos free.
- Fasteners: Four plated-steel bolts, with silicon bronze nuts. Apply rust-resistant finish at factory.
- End Connections: Brass tailpiece adapters for solder-end connections to copper tubing.
