Class 10 EXPORT GIFT LAMB. No entry fee. Hoof and Hook Competition. Lambs are tagged on arrival, same lamb is judged on Show Day for the Hoof Competition and the following week for the Hook Competition. All lambs entered become the property of the Kaikoura A&P Association.

Prizes: - On Hoof: 1st - $ 100, 2nd - $ 75, 3rd - $ 50, 4th - $ 25. On Hook: 1st - $ 100, 2nd - $ 75, 3rd - $ 50, 4th - $ 25.

NOVICE CLASSES - CONDITIONS

1.A Novice is a Horse or Pony which has yet to win six Firsts inConformation Classes at any A & P Show, at the time of theShow.

2.Once a Horse or Pony has had six wins it is not eligible for Noviceclasses.

3.Novice in Paced and Mannered classes is a Horse or Pony which has not wonmore thansixFirstsinPacedand/orManneredclassesatanyAPShowat thetimeofthe Show.

4.Novices may enter OpenClasses.

5.Hacks: Any Ladies Hack class win counts as Open Conformationclass.

6.Novice Champions are not eligible for Open Championships unless they havewon an Open class, nor are they eligible for Supreme Award. Championship Award does not count as awin.

7.Novice Horse and Ponies must be shown in SNAFFLE BITS only, in Novice Classes, (excepting Harnessclasses).

8.If a Novice has gained six wins at the day of the Show, the Competitor must advise the Secretary's Office and may change to Open Class, or, if no class remains to enter,a refund will be actioned at such time as the Show Committee decides. CHAMPIONSHIPJUDGING

This Show supports the RAS 'Yellow Card' System.

A Yellow card will be issued, In cases of offences in respect of abuse of animals or inappropriate behavior as per the RAS Constitution and the RAS Rules & Regulations/Bylaws including the Equestrian Rule book, the RAS affiliated Show/Event/registered Measuring Stand and their grounds and their duly appointed delegates may deliver to the Person Responsible a Yellow Warning Card (either immediately or within 10 working days of the show) which suspends any penalty until possible new offences, Full wording of the 'Yellow Card' System is available to view on the RAS website -

Forbidden Substance - The Rules of the Royal A&P Society New Zealand in regard to Forbidden Substances apply. Competitors are advised that test for forbidden substances may be carried out during the Show ad that testing of all animals is at the person responsible's risk. Forbidden Substance - Any substance capable of affecting the speed, stamina, courage or conduct of a horse, pony, donkey or mule by its action

upon the central or peripheral nervous system or the cardio-vascular, respiratory, alimentary, digestive, muscoskeletal or urogenital systems.

Arrears - No person who is in arrears with regard to entry fees, subscriptions, or any other Show/Event charge is eligible to compete at any affiliated Show/Event. Proof of payment will be required before any restriction is lifted.

Summary of RAS Resolution Process - the full process can be found on the RAS website The principle behind the process is to deal with the matter as it comes to hand and in most cases it should be dealt with directly by the show. If the matter is in regards to an RAS official, the show may request the assistance of RAS Head Office as to how to deal with this in an appropriate manner.

Height Certificates must be carried, No certificate no Judging.

Day Certificate Measure provided at Kaikoura A&P for District competitors only. Protective headgear: A hard hat is generally described as a hunting cap, a bowler, protective hardwear or a safety helmet. Wearing a hard hat is compulsory for anyone competing on, working in or schooling, or riding for any other reason a horse at an A&P Show or in any area considered to be for whatever reason a part of the

showground. It is required that all riders particularly those jumping horses wear protective headgear conforming to the current NZ Safety Std or an equivalent Std and that the headgear be secured by a retention harness. No penalties will be incurred for those riders wishing to use approved safety helmets in showing classes. All riders must wear protective headgear secured at the shell at more than two points. Headgear must be worn with chinstrap properly adjusted and fastened. Hats/helmets must conform to one of the current Safety Standards. The latest list can be found at
