5 Quintessential Elements of a Power Presentation:

1)  The Speech

2)  Body Language

3)  Equipment

4)  The Environment

5)  Preparation

-  Create a mind map

-  80% on delivery, 20% on content, changes if you’re not 100% familiar with the topic

-  Use anecdotes

-  Monitor audience reaction, make sure they understand you

-  By using only notes, you allow the body to express itself naturally

-  Use note cards with keywords

-  No more than 7 cards for a single presentation

-  Hooks: Tell a story, use quotations, make a striking statement, use an unusual statistic, ask for a show of hands, establish believability, make a promise, show a two minute video, start with a transparency or slide

-  Try ending with a rhetorical question, make a statement, end the same way you began

The Spirit of Youth

Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind. Nobody grows old by living a number of years. People grow old only by deserting their ideals

Years wrinkle the skin; but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul.

Worry, doubt, self distrust, fear and despair—these are the long, long years that bow the heart and turn the greening spirit back to dust.

You are as you as your faith; as old as your doubts; as young as your self-confidence; as old as your fear; as young as your hope; as old as your despair.
