THE DEFINITION

of

AN HONOR DELEGATE

Are you looking to further those GREAT leadership skills you learned at the Millikin summer camp? There is no better way to do this than by becoming an HONOR DELEGATE. To become an honor delegate for the state convention, you must be ready to take on responsibility and a higher level of leadership. An Honor Delegate is a student who comes to convention with a task to complete. It can be anything from serving on a committee (1st Vice President positions) to providing a service to the convention (2nd Vice President Positions). 2nd Vice President positions are listed below, and I encourage you to try one out this year!

Service Projects:

Provide goods or a service to the convention, including: folders, banners, certificates, or other useful items to help the host school (Midwest Central HS) make the convention run smoothly.

Hall of Ideas:

Make free-standing, presentation to show a unique activity or service that your council does. The displays accompanied by a QR code/digital link containing information on your idea are set up for other delegates to get ideas to take back to their own councils.

OVERVIEW OF HALL OF IDEAS & SERVICE PROJECTS

HALL OF IDEAS:

The Hall of Ideas is a large room filled with displays. Your student Council can prepare a presentation that describes a specific activity or event. All presentations are to be accompanied by a QR code or a digital linkdirecting individuals to a handout describing the project. Each presentation must meet the guidelines found on the following pages.

SERVICE PROJECTS:

A Service Project chairperson is responsible for providing either goods or services for the IASC at the convention. There are a wide variety of these and guidelines for each are made on an individual basis, because the assortment of services that are necessary for the convention. Refer to the following pages about specific guidelines involving service projects at the convention.

IMPORTANT GUIDELINES:

-THE VISUAL DISPLAY MAY NOT EXCEED THE MEASUREMENT OF 24” by 30”. IT MUST BE SELF-STANDING.

-THE DISPLAY MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A QR CODE OR A DIGITIAL LINK IN ORDER TO ACCESS THE HANDOUT.

- A HANDOUT MUST BE IN DIGITAL FORM.

-YOUR NAME, SCHOOL NAME, SCHOOL ADDRESS, AND SCHOOL PHONE NUMBER MUST BE LISTED ON THE DIGITAL HANDOUT/QR CODE AS A CONTACT.

-ALL COSTS INCURRED ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF YOU AND/OR YOUR SCHOOL.

-ANY ELECTRONICS MUST BE BATTERY OPPORATED.

-ELECTRICITY WILL NOT BE PROVIDED.

-CONFIRMATION FORM IS DUE JANUARY 11, 2018 OR YOUR HONOR DELEGATE POSITION WILL BE TERMINATED.

-EVIDENCE THAT YOU ARE COMPLETING YOUR SERVICE PROJECT IS DUE ALONG WITH YOUR CONFIRMATION FORM--JANUARY 15, 2018.

-THIS MAY INCLUDE RECEIPTS, ORDER FORMS, INVOICES, SAMPLES, etc.

-CONVENTION SPECIFIC PROJECTS ARE TO BE SHIPPED TO MIDWEST CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL BY THE DATE SPECIFIED BY EITHER THE SECOND VICE PRESIDENT OR THE CONVENTION SECRETARY
