Second Grade Supplies

Dear Family,

The following is a list of supplies your child will need for second grade. The summer brings great opportunities to gather these supplies so that your child is ready for school in the fall. Please send these items in a brown grocery bag labeled with your student’s name on the outside of it on Meet the Teacher night, Monday, August 15th at 4:00.

These items are the same for each second grade classroom; however, your child’s teacher may send an additional list home in August with a few individualized items.

Please note the specific sizes, quantities and brands of the following items:

These amounts and requirements ensure that supplies are of good quality and are plentiful and in good condition throughout the year.

1 Box of baby wipes (only boys need to bring this item)

2Glue Sticks (Fat only) (only girls need to bring this item)

1Bottle of Elmer’s Glue (4 oz)

4Large boxes of Kleenex

1Box of gallon size Ziplocfreezer bags (only boys need to bring this item)

1Box of Ziploc sandwich bag (only girls need to bring this item)

5Pocket folders (1 red, 1 blue, 1 green, 1 yellow, and 1 orange—no designs)

2Folders with brads (paper fasteners) only (1 red and 1 yellow)

4Sturdy folders (to be used for take home, design or photo optional)

2Boxes of Crayolacrayons (24 count)

1 Box of Crayolacolored pencils (24 count)

3Wide rule spiral notebooks (please no glue bound pages, no black notebooks please)

1Composition notebook (solid colors only)

3Pink, rectangular pencil erasers

15Cap erasers

36Yellow pencils, sharpened

1Plastic School Supplybox (approx. 8L X 5W X 2D) (big ones won’t fit in desk)

1 set of headphones (computers are used daily in our stations and your child MUST have their own set of headphones to use when they are working at these stations

1***Backpack or bookbag

** Please also send Campbell’s Soup labels (UPC points) and Box Tops for Education. (Box tops are frequently found on cereal boxes, and boxed dinner mixes- Hamburger Helper, Stove Top, etc.)

***Each child will need a backpack to carry to and from school every day.

Teacher Wish List (These items do not need to be purchased, but would be helpful to your child’s teacher.)
