The Stewartsville-Chamblissburg Volunteer Fire Company was founded in 1959. We are a 100% volunteer department operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. At this time we have over 30 active members, several life members that are still contributing every day. Our goal is to provide the community with absolutely the very best fire and EMS service possible.

We have two fire houses, one on Jordantown Road in Stewartsville and one on Stewartsville Road in Chamblissburg. Currently we have three class “A” pumpers, two brush trucks, a Ford Explorer, a 2500 gallon tanker, and a Heavy Rescue Truck on order. We average over 20 calls every month. These calls can vary from a house fire to a simple wreck.

We hold monthly training sessions with our instructors at the fire station in Stewartsville. The training sessions assure that our members are given the opportunity to brush up on basic firefighting skills and everyday changes in the fire service. There are also many classes located in and out of the county for people with different interests. Not all classes have to do with firefighting; some of the classes cover vehicle extraction, EMT, hazardous materials, swift water, confined space, trench and cave rescue, and many more.
