Sebastian Vettel Meets Fans Ahead of Singapore Grand Prix

Singapore (September 23, 2010) Sebastian Vettel took some time out from his preparations for the Singapore GP today to meet some lucky Singaporean fans in a PUMA store. In an afternoon away from the track, Vettel talked with the lucky fans about the race in prospect and what drives him to be the best, before playing exciting games like “Brain-controlled racing cars” and “foosball matches” with them, posing for photographs and signing autographs.

PUMA, the official supplier of Race and Team wear for Red Bull Racing, was delighted to host Vettel in one of its Singapore stores, and give the forty dedicated fans the chance to see the man behind the visor. These fans had won this opportunity through PUMA competitions hosted on Facebook along with in-store promotions.

“I enjoy meeting fans before a race, so it’s great that PUMA do these kind of events”, said Sebastian Vettel.”These guys sure love Formula One and know so much about the sport, it is a pleasure for me to spend an afternoon with them at this PUMA store and give them an insight into what it takes to run two cars at a Grand Prix event, as well as what we do away from the track. The Singapore GP is a fantastic event and I really enjoy coming here, the enthusiasm and passion of these fans is a major reason for success of this event.”

“Sebastian is such a great guy, and was clearly so happy to be here and meeting these guys”, said Sheryl Wong, General Manager of PUMA Singapore. ”His enthusiasm and charming personality made a huge impact on our competition winners, this was a day they will never forget and there’s no doubt he’ll have 40 more passionate supporters cheering him all the way to the chequered flag on Sunday!”

“This was an unbelievable day for me, I never thought I would ever meet a Formula One driver and certainly not one as talented as Sebastian!” said Laura Lau, a big fan of Sebastian. “He’s so nice and easy going, I learnt a lot about motorsport and what goes on behind the scenes. I really hope he wins on Sunday, he’s so close to winning his first Driver’s Championship it would be fantastic if he could do it this year.”
