Spring Season Information
If any team needs to add a player throughout the season, they must first have the Executive Councils approval.
Captains need to contact Edmund Shwayri to do this. After approval, the new person must then be paid for before they may play.
All new players will start at their division median. At the current time the medians are as follows:
A-Division 14.87
B-Division 11.37
C-Division 9.85
Packet Delivery
As those of you that have been to the past meetings know, there will be two packet drop offs this season.
If your home bar is: DUP, Steve & Clarks, YOT, or Doyle’s, your packet will be at the Down Under Pub. All others will be dropped of at PJ’s. If anyone has any questions about this please contact me and I’ll try and answer them.
All packets will be dropped off no later than Sunday night.

Two scoresheets, four newsletters, and one pre-addressed envelope.
---The home team is responsible for picking up the packet.
---The winning team is responsible for returning the empty packet the next time they are picking one up. Failure to do so will result in penalty points.
Scoresheet Return
As of right know there are three ways the winning team can return the scoresheet....1stis to mail it in, it must have a postmark of no later than Wed. or penalty points will be assessed. A Thurs. postmark is 5 pts., Fri. 8pts., any other is all pts. 2nd , you can fax it in. Thurs is fax day. Unless you call me I will only have my fax up on Thurs. The no. is 596-4391 3rd is to hand deliver it to Jenn or myself.

Captains Meeting Notes
A captains meeting was held January 5,1998 to discuss the possible addition of a Cary Division to the BCDL. Teams represented include: Cosmic Rays, Full of Bull, Skeleton Crew, Shackers, Civic Minded Six, Six Drunks with a Hobby, Dead Stroke, BoB, In Flight!!, Purely Accidental II, Jumbo Gumbo Bunnies, and I am Tiger Woods.
Proposal #1: Go to an all mail-in system for returning scoresheets.

Proposal#2: Two warnings will be given to teams who do not return the empty packets to a drop off site before being penalized by subtracting match points.

Scheduling Meeting Notes
The scheduling meeting for the Spring 1998 season was held Jan. 14th at Ray’s.
Council members present include: Andy Mead, Edmond Shwayri, Dale Hyler, Catherine Plummer, Eric Paradis, and Paula Brown. League members present include: Jason Kilts, Adam Harriss, Dara Wallen, Don Richards, John Strobel, Jen Strobel, and Mike Baker.
The Spring 1998 season will be 10 weeks long with 3 weeks of tournement play. The league will have 3 divisions with 6 teams in A and C, and 9 teams in B division. The B division teams will each have one bye week with a position week at the end of the season where 1 vs. 6, 2 vs. 5, 3 vs. 4, and 7 vs. 8. Eight teams will make the playoffs with division winners ranked 1-3 and 4-8 seeded by match points. The teams will be top 2 from A division, top 3 from B, top 2 from C and the team with the next highest point total. The position week will not effect the 4-8 seeded teams.
The end of the season party is scheduled for Sunday April 19th.
Registration for the 1998 Summer season is scheduled for April 21st.
The 1998 Summer season will start April 28th.
First Captains’ Meeting of the season is Sunday Feb. 1st 7:30 at Champs!!
Colleen Nass has volunteered to take over the BCDL web site management.
Edmond Shwayri proposes to reinstate the coin toss in match play. This issue will be brought up to the captains on Feb 1st.
The monthly checking account statement showing all transactions will be published in the newsletter.
