·  ALL AGES ON THE 1st JANUARY IN THE CURRENT YEAR

·  It is compulsory to wear at all times when mounted a hat to one of the following standards:- PAS015:1998 or 2011 with BSI Kitemark or AS/NZS3838 1998, 2003 or 2006 with SAI Global symbol or Snell E2001* with the official Snell label and number.

·  ALL HATS MUST BE TAGGED WITH THE PONY CLUB TAG. THE STRAP must be FASTENED and a black or navy silk only worn. For cross-country riding (including Eventing, Tetrathlon,Horse Trials,tests and training) over fences 0.80m high and above: a JOCKEY SKULL CAP MUST BE WORN. It is also strongly recommended that a jockey skull cap is worn for cross country riding even over lower fences. Body protectors (Beta level 3, 2009). Long sleeves and medical armbands must be worn for the cross country phase

·  Correct DRESS should be worn – i.e. for jumping/cross country colours or Meynell Hunt Branch of the Pony Club sweatshirt (navy blue if not a Meynell PC member)

·  NO earrings or other body piercing.

·  Horses/Ponies shall be at least 4 years old.

·  To be judged under Pony Club Rules 2017

·  Horses/Ponies may only be ridden in by the competitor.

·  The organisers reserve the right to limit or refuse entries.

OUTSIDE ASSISTANCE OF ANY KIND, WHETHER ASKED FOR OR NOT, IS NOT ALLOWED ON PENALTY OF ELIMINATION, EXCEPT IN CATCHING LOOSE HORSES AND ASSISTING REMOUNTING.

·  Any competitor jumping a fence when not competing will be disqualified.

·  Inspection of the course at any time when mounted involves elimination.

·  Hackamores are not permitted

·  Horses/Ponies may only compete in two classes.

·  Competitors must ride in numerical order as far as possible.

·  Every effort will be made to let it be known if for any reason the event has to be cancelled, but competitors will not be contacted individually. If in doubt about the weather please telephone the secretary.

·  Time allowed will be displayed on competition day.

FORMAT

This competition will be a mixed course of show jumps followed by cross country style jumps in an arena.

Times will be on the Meynell website.

Entry Fees: Meynell Members £12, Other Pony Clubs £14, Non Pony Club members £16. Late entries may be accepted if classes aren’t full by the closing date. Please forward your entry form together with your payment to the Entries Secretary. Don’t forget

£5 deposit for number bibs on the day.

CLEAR ROUND

S/J and XC - fence height can be altered, shortened course, have a go

Rosettes for all clear rounds - £5 a go, pay on the day. Open max 1 hour.

CLASS ONE – to start at 10.30am prompt.

S/J and XC - Max fence height 40cm, help & lead reins permitted

At least two jumps will be built to max height.

CLASS TWO

S/J and XC - Max fence height 50cm

(if enough entries class will be divided for 10 & over & under 10s)

At least two jumps will be built to max height.

The organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers and all the Officials and Stewards who cannot be held responsible for any accident or injury to any person or animal, or loss of, or damage to, any property, competitor, onlooker or other person or vehicle. All persons attend AT THEIR OWN RISK and are responsible for their own actions and for the behaviour of children in their care whilst on the premises.

The committee, Organisers and landowners do not hold themselves responsible for any loss, damage, accident, injury or illness to any horse, rider, spectator or any other person or property.
