(How can I get access to a shipwreck site?
Most protected underwater sites do not require an access permit from the Heritage Office. Most good dive stores will have information those sites that are accessible for diving. If you are uncertain about a particular shipwreck, speak to the Heritage Office's Maritime Archaeology Unit on (02) 9635 6155.)
