Searching for Documents

Step / Action
Begin by navigating to the documentsearch page:
From any BuyWays page, on the far left, select the Orders & Documents icon /Document Search – click on Search Documents.

The search page opens to the simple search option:

Note: If the advanced search page opens, click the simple search link, for purposes of this exercise.
Click the Search list dropdown arrow.

You can search by any of these document types. For this example, retain/select the All Documents option.
You can enter part or all of a document number.
For this example we will search for a purchase order. Enter the complete purchase order number into theSearchfield.
Entera valid valuee.g."A000000947," and click the button:

The search results shows all documents related to your search criteria, along with some basic information about each document.
Click theA000000947link.

The Purchase Order is displayed. Use the tabs to view any information required.
To select another document that was returned in the search list, click thedropdown arrow next to Document Number(s), located to the far right side of the purchase order page:

Click the (Requisition) list item.
The Requisition displays. Use the tabs to view any information required.
You can use the previous document and next document arrows to navigate between documents, or you can return to the original search page by selecting the Return to Search Results link.

To perform an advanced search, click theReturn to Search Resultslink.

Click the start new search button, located in the upper left side of the page.

Click the advanced search link.

The advanced search page opens.This page will allow you to search based on any combination of search criteria that you select. For this example, you want to search for a Purchase Order created by a specific user for a specific supplier.
Click the Searchdropdown arrow:

Click the Purchase Order list item.

You can search for an owner by clicking the Owner searchicon, or you can begin typing the owner’s name in the field and the matching results will display.
Click the Owner searchicon:

Enter the desired information into theLast Namefield.
Entera valid valuee.g."Duggan (Requisitioner)". Remember, this is the test/training environment. In reality, you would search on only the person’s actual name.
Click the Search button.

The search results display. Click the [select ]button to the far right of the name of the desired name, and then click the button:

You are returned to the search page. Gary’s name appears in the Owner’s field.
You can search for the purchase orders for Gary for a specific vendor by clicking the Vendor Searchicon, or you can begin typing in the field and the matching results will display.

For this exercise, we will enter the desired information into theVendorfield.

Click the REMY CORPORATION link.

Drag theverticalscrollbar to the far right of the page to view other selection fields.
Click theGobutton.

The results that match your criteria display.

Click the link to one of the displayed Purchase Orders.
The Purchase Order for the specific owner and vendor displays.
Congratulations! You have successfully searched for documents.
