Purpose of Job / The Team Leader will be responsible for the line and operational management of a team of Recovery Coordinators providing intensive community support to deliver a bespoke package of care, including timely and effective assessment, risk management and recovery planning. The Team Leader will ensure that substance users consistently receive high quality services that adhere to best practice guidelines and achieve high professional standards. The post-holder will be responsible for the performance management and on-going development of the service and staff, to ensure that contractual output targets are achieved.
The Team Leader will be required to provide appropriate direction, supervision and appraisal of staff. Monitoring of data generated by the Project and reporting of information is required in order that the service operates within contractual, administrative and financial requirements.

Key Tasks:

  • To manage and coordinate the activities of the service, including management of the staff team, workers and volunteers, so that the service runs efficiently and effectively, making the best possible use of finance and human resources.
  • To provide line management, supervision and leadership to achieve performance outcomes in line with service level and contractual arrangements.
  • To build and maintain excellent relationships with local partners and stakeholders both internal and external to CGL.
  • To ensure effective performance management through data collection, reporting and analysis.
  • To ensure the timely and accurate collection and recording of specified data for the partnership and CGL, and provide relevant reports as required.
  • To be prepared to participate in and make use of supervision, appraisal and other learning and development opportunities in line with CGL policies.
  • To work closely with medical staff employed by CGL or that work in partnership with the service.
  • To oversee the monitoring and evaluations of the service offered to clients and actively engage, involve and consult with service users regarding on-going service development.
  • To promote and publicise the service and continue to develop referral and access opportunities so that the service maintains and increases its client base.
  • To contribute to the safety of all staff and clients by participating in risk assessment procedures and monitoring the maintenance of health, safety and security procedures in the working environment.

Person Specification

Essential criteria:

Good leadership skills

Experience of working within alcohol and or substance misuse services with a clear understanding of the need for and ability to deliver quality services

Maintaining professional boundaries and effective working with Criminal Justice agencies.

Knowledge of the issues facing substance misusers including social care, welfare benefits, health and emergency accommodation

Ability to assess and care plan service users and formulate written reports as necessary

Community based support/outreach practices

Experience of contributing to project development

Being granted security clearance to local custody suites

And the ability to:

Communicate confidently and effectively, verbally and in writing

Respond flexibly to the demands of the post

Maintain professional boundaries

Work as a member of a team
