ST. ALOYSIUS CATHOLIC CHURCH

HICKORY, NORTH CAROLINA SEPTEMBER 20, 2015

Stewardship is not a matter of catchy phrases or inspirational speeches. Stewardship involves instilling a culture of Christian discipleship within a parish. It is a way to give back to God in gratitude for all that God has given to us. As part of an effort to reinvigorate the Stewardship Committee at our parish, I cordially invite you to attend a Stewardship “Discernment” Forum on Tuesday, September 29 at 6:30 PM in Holy Family Hall. This is an opportunity to learn the true meaning of “Stewardship” and to prayerfully consider being a part of the stewardship effort. I hope to see you at this Stewardship Forum. We recently installed 16 security cameras at key locations throughout our parish campus for your safety and for the protection of our property. If you witness suspicious activity, please call the office at (828) 327-2341 as soon as possible. Our Hispanic community will serve chicken nachos, quesadillas, and Burritos in Holy Family Hall after the 11:00 AM Mass on Sunday, September 27 to support the DSA. They will serve tamales, sope, tacos, tostadas and chicharrones after the 1:00 PM Spanish Mass. Please plan to share in the food, fellowship, and fun! - Sincerely Yours in Christ Fr. Larry LoMonaco

Larry LoMonaco

A little girl noticed that the priest always paused and bowed his head for a moment before starting his homily. One day, she asked him why he did that. He replied, “I’m asking the Lord to help me to preach a good homily.” She inquired, “How come He doesn’t answer you?
