The Links, Incorporated

Triangle Park Chapter

P.O. Box 997

Morrisville, North Carolina 27560

April 24, 2008

Dear Friend of Charitable Giving:

For more than two decades, The Triangle Park Chapter of The Links, Incorporated has devoted its resources and energies to addressing the needs of the Triangle Community. Our Chapter supports a myriad of service initiatives in the communities we were established to serve-Durham, Wake and Orange counties. This year we proudly celebrate twenty-four years of committed service and financial assistance, internationally and locally, to people of African descent.

The Links, Incorporated is a premier international service organization founded in 1946. Our Founders envisioned bringing together professional women to volunteer and raise funds in support of civic, educational, cultural and other charitable activities in their respective communities. Today, two hundred seventy-five (275) chapters span the United States, Europe, Africa and the Caribbean. Our Chapter is continuing the admirable mission of our parent organization through committed service and financial contributions in four key areas: Services to Youth, National Trends, International Trends and the Arts.

Our major service programs have been noteworthy. We are especially proud of our Literacy Program (Links to Books), implemented in four elementary schools, providing total assistance to a single mother and her four children displaced by Hurricane Katrina, adopting a Residential Program for homeless women living with HIV/AIDS, partnering with Sister Cities of Durham to furnish a cottage at the Kabaha Village in Tanzania, initiating a photojournalism project and providing a scholarship at a local school for promising disadvantaged boys, contributing $16,500 to the Historically Black Colleges and Universities Scholarship Endowment Initiative and contributing approximately $200,000 to the Theatre Department at North Carolina Central University.

In the spirit of partnership and community outreach, we need your help to continue our support of these worthy causes. Your financial contributions will greatly strengthen our philanthropic and humanitarian endeavors in the communities we serve. For your consideration, we are enclosing materials indicating the ways you can contribute to our Chapter’s mission.

We are excited about our future and your generous contribution can make a tremendous difference in improving the quality of life for others.

Sincerely,

Ruth G. Kennedy
