Scrapbook Book Report Date Assigned: Nov. 5
Due: Friday, December 7th
This will be basedon your multi-cultural book study (historical, realistic fiction or nonfiction).
You will create a scrapbook based on the book you read. *Books were checked out on Monday, November 5 after Mrs. Farrell introduced the project in the media center.
All work must be original…and reflect your thinking. Only dialogue quotes may be used, and the page number should be listed in parentheses immediately after the quote.
Use the following guide to construct your scrapbook.
- Cover/ Title Page: Include your name, date, title of book, and genre (5 pts.)
- Characters: Illustrate and describe at least 3 characters/historical figures from the book. Illustrations can be collage format, computer-generated, or hand drawn. *Please note which are main charactersor important historical figures, and if one is the narrator. (15 pts.) At least 3 pages: 1 per character! Descriptions may be typed!!
- Setting: Illustrate at least 2 settings and write a paragraph (one for each setting) explaining why they are important in the book (what happened there). (10pts.) Your paragraphs describing your book settings may be typed!
- Plot: Write a summary (including the most important events) of the plot. Your summary should be at least 3complete paragraph(s), and include more information than the back of the book. (25 pts.) A guide with suggestions for the summary format will be provided. Your plot summary may be typed!
- Conflict: Illustrate, label (internal, external, man vs.____, etc.) and describe at least 2 conflicts. (15 pts.)
- LetterFrom Character: Write a 1-2 pageletter from a character or historical figure in the book (using the character’s or historical figure’s point of view) to another character or historical figure in the book. Include events or conflicts from the book, and make it interesting! Maybe you could ask for/offer advice, tell a secret, or share the character’s or historical figure’s likely feelings about an event from the book. (30 pts.)
- Credits Page: List of sources (books, websites, magazines, etc. for pictures, lettering, etc.) Include your book title as it is the basis for your project.

*You are not expected to buy a scrapbook or scrapbooking supplies to complete the project.
You may use construction paper, computer paper, markers, print or cut lettering from magazines,etc.
