SCORES/ Study Skills Class

Overview of class:

We will be focusing on study skill and social communication skills that can impact the school routine inside and outside of school. We will also support the campus instructional focus on the 21st century learner, study/ organizational skills and technology integration. The work will revolve around setting goals, organizing, asking questions, role playing, partner activities and sharing, as well as, keeping track of self-progress. We will have a daily warm-up which will generally involve socializing with a peer on a particular topic, a group discussion, and sometimes an academic one as well. Grades will be taken one to two times a week on the warm-up participation and weekly grades for planner checks and missing assignments. There will be time built into the class for homework assistance or reteach/assistance of concepts from content classes, but it is also expected that there is a home routine of some time spent on homework and/or reading.
