Fees / An hourly fee of £25.50 will be paid per client counselling hour, parent or teacher liaison hour (where applicable).
Sessions where there is more than 48 hours’ noticeof cancellation must be invoiced at half rate.
Hourly fees are reviewed on an annual basis by the Board of Trustees.
Point of Liaison / Clinical Manager
Location / We Hear You has counselling venues in various locations across Bath and North East Somerset, Somerset and Wiltshire.
This role is based in Street, Somerset

Scope and requirements of service

  1. To provide 50-minute counselling sessions weekly to allocated clients:

-Children aged up to 18

as required and agreed.

  1. To maintain client notes.
  2. To attend supervision as required.
  3. To communicate with clients by telephone and letter as necessary.
  4. To regularly communicate with the Clinical Manager to discuss service delivery / client workload etc.
  5. To refer on to other organisations and agencies as appropriate or necessary.
  6. To attend training as required, including 3 Saturday training/team events throughout the year paid at a flat rate of £75. There is an expectation that self-employed counsellors will make every reasonable effort to attend.
  7. To attend annual Safeguarding Children training.
  8. To adhere to the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy or equivalent.
  9. To hold a qualification in integrative or psychodynamic counselling, to at least diploma level or equivalent.
  10. To have at least two years post graduate experience.
  11. Work independently as well as part of a team.
  12. Be committed to providing high quality counselling/therapy, including being responsive to training needs and possible personal therapy needs and committed to maintaining an appropriate level of CPD.
  13. Have an understanding of the effects of coping with cancer or life threatening conditions for individuals and for families.
  14. Have a commitment to developing an approach that takes account of working therapeutically with the traumatising effects of life threatening illness and loss.
  15. Have experience in time limited work.
  16. Hold current membership of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists or equivalent recognized body and to provide proof of such membership including membership number on request.
  17. Other tasks commensurate with the scope.
  18. To attend meetings with parents / guardians / schools / other agencies and communicate (as appropriate) by telephone and letter as necessary.
  19. Have experience of working therapeutically with children and their families.
  20. To work directly with children who are coping with cancer/life threatening illness as well as supporting their families to communicate appropriately about the illness of family members.
  21. To have a clear understanding of developmental stages and their impact upon the needs of children and of complex family dynamics is necessary.

We Hear You maintains various organisational policies which are available in the office for further reference if required.
