We will be designing and building lunch boxes in Science. We need the following materials by Tuesday, March 11th. Please do not bring in any materials that may have contained nuts. Thank you for your help!

Class Updates

We had a wonderful day at the National Building Museum. Students got to build their own buildings and create their own city. Many students are bringing home their buildings if they made the trip home on the bus. Thank you to the chaperones for their help today!

In the All Purpose Room, students mapped out their very own city. We will continue doing this tomorrow.

We are going to the National Building Museum tomorrow. Students will need to bring a lunch. No glass please! They may bring their lunch box.

Class Updates

In Writing, students continued finishing up their Brave Irene opinion pieces and country research projects. Some students began writing our next narrative piece. Students will be using their five senses to write a narrative on their most memorable memory.

In Reading, we read An Angel for Solomon Singer. Students identified the problem and solution in order to determine the theme of the story.

Students went to Computers today.

In Math, students took a practice math MSA.

In Science, we learned about the history of the light bulb. Students discussed the positive and negative effects of the light bulb and electricity.

Class Updates

In Writing, students continued finishing up their Brave Irene opinion pieces and country research projects.

In Reading, we finished reading Lily and Miss Liberty. We identified the point of view of Lily and compared it with our point of view.

Students went to Guidance today.

In Math, students identified where the whole should be on number lines that had a fraction labeled.

Third grade chose their groups for our upcoming field trip to the National Building Museum.

We are going to the National Building Museum on February 25th. The cost is $13. I will be needing four chaperones. If you are interested in chaperoning, please complete the permission slip and return to school ASAP. Chaperones will be randomly selected.

In Reading, we continued reading Lily and Miss Liberty. We compared Lily and Miss Liberty to Anna, Grandpa and the Big Storm since the books are written by the same author.

Students went to Art today.

In Math, students placed fractions with different denominators on the same number line.

In Social Studies, students identified ways to transport bananas from Costa Rica to Maryland. Students viewed a map and learned about the pros and cons of each transportation method to determine the most efficient way to transport bananas.
