School Wins Half Term Treats from Camel Creek!

Nanstallon Community Primary School near Bodmin had a special guest appear at the school’s assembly on the morning of Friday 27th May.

Students at Nanstallon were thrilled when Dina the Dinosaur, one of the Camel Creek Adventure Park mascots, surprised them during their morning assembly with over 300 sweet treats, just in time for half term!

Leading up to “Heroes Week” at Camel Creek from Saturday 28th May to Sunday 5th June, students at primary schools across Cornwall were invited to enter their competition:

“Who is your hero and why?”

Two children also received an extra special gift for their letters that were deemed “Star Reads” by the Adventure Park:

“My mum is a hero because she has been in hospital and she has been very brave. She is home now and I am very happy and both of my dogs and all my six chickens are happy to see her so much.” by Riley

“I mean it hasn’t got to be a make believe hero who leaps from building to building… even a barber can be someone’s hero… maybe you ride horses, you would exercise them and make sure they don’t get laminitis... perhaps you’re a teacher that makes children’s lives easier… you are a hero!” by Daisy

Camel Creek is strengthening its links with schools across Cornwall with the introduction of the Nature Explorers Education Package. Teachers can lead children around the park with new educational workbooks, dispersed with talks from Animal Keepers, providing students the opportunity to learn about the animals and their habitats at the park. Camel Creek holds a full zoo licence and has a wide variety of animals from piglets to crocodiles.

For more information about the Educational Visits, teachers can email or call the park directly on 01841 540276.
