School Test Coordination Guidelines

1. The school test coordinator has attended a training session conducted by the school system test coordinator. This training session included a review of the Test Administrator's Manual, the Testing Code of Ethics and other materials determined by the school system test coordinator to be necessary.

2. The required tests shall be distributed, administered, and returned to the school system test coordinator as instructed at the designated date(s)/times(s). Included in this process is verification of the number of test documents delivered to the school prior to testing and verification of the number of documents delivered back to the school system test coordinator.

3. Personnel who have training in professional education and are knowledgeable about the state testing program shall administer tests in typical class-size groups. The school system test coordinator may approve special permission for larger group testing.

4. Proctors are required for all state tests. Any individual, except a student, may serve as a Test Proctor provided the individual has received proper training prior to the test administration.

5. The Testing Code of Ethics, Test Administrator's Manual and other appropriate documents as provided by the school system test coordinator have been reviewed with all individuals involved in the test administration. All school test administrators and proctors have been trained on appropriate documents and procedures.

6. At the completion of the test administration, the test administrators and proctors (as appropriate) have signed the form provided by the school system test coordinator indicating the following:

a. They attended a training session on administering the test

b. The test was administered according to the Testing Code of Ethics, the Test Administrator's Manual and other information provided during the training session.

c. Proper editing as described in the Test Administrator's Manual has been completed.

d. The test materials have been returned to the school test coordinator immediately upon completion of these tasks.

7. Disclosure of test content or specific test items to persons other than authorized employees of the Wilkes County Board of Education is prohibited. The school system test coordinator must approve any such authorization. Reviewing test items for instructional use is unethical. Reproduction of the tests, or any part thereof, is prohibited.

8. Testing irregularities, or suspicions thereof, shall be reported immediately to the school principal, school test coordinator and the school system test coordinator.

9. All responsibilities of the school test coordinator shall be completed as outlined by the school system test coordinator.

10. The principal, as the instructional leader of the school, is ultimately responsible for the ethnical administration of the testing program.
