Topic 3

/ Orientation / Funding Form / Tchotchkes / Bios
Orientation Prep:
·  Orientation will be at the CFA and GSA will need to be present from at least 12:30pm – 1:30 pm for tabling. We need to bring the form to get student signatures.
·  Volunteer Interest Sign-up: We discussed whether we would want to have a sign up form for students to express their interest in volunteering. We could use that to gauge interest as well as to query ideas from students on volunteer opp.
·  Are there any other materials we need? Jill might have some ideas. Should we make a flyer?
Tchotchkes:
·  According to the packet of information that Chelsea picked up, it may take up to 10 days to get access to funding. This does not leave us with enough time to purchase a giveaway for Orientation.
·  We discussed still buying a giveaway and finding other times to hand it out to students
Bios/Picture:
·  Dana needs short bios and a picture from us to feature in the booklet they hand out to students.

Conclusions

/ Tchotchkes:
·  Consider buying a giveaway to hand out at future event
Orientation Prep:
·  Carla and Chelsea will staff the table. David will be in attendance for orientation.

Topic 4

/ Graduation Speaker
We discussed aiming to have a Veteran speak, especially considering the new “Veterans concentration” offered by the SSW. Carla said she may not a few people who could be possible speakers.
Marna recommended using SurveyMonky to query students’ ideas and opinions
David would be able to run AWA data on alumni of the SSW to see if any ideas come from that report
Maybe by contacting someone at the United Way we’ll be able to prospect for a speaker

Conclusions

/ This is a top priority we will all continue to think about and report back at the next meeting
