Wileyplus(Graded Quizzes and Ungraded Assigements)

WileyPLUSis an effective online learning tool that serves four functions for this course:

  1. It is the place where you take graded online quizzes. There are sevenon-line quizzes, each quiz covering one or two chapters at a time starting from Chapter 3 to Chapter 12. The best sixperformances will be counted toward your quiz grade (i.e., 2% each) Each assignment should be completed within the given time limit, and before the due date specified in the Course Schedule. Students are not allowed to access the quiz after the due date. Detailed instructions to get access to WileyPLUSand to finish quiz is provided on the course website (in the “Announcement” folder).
  2. It is the place where you practice ungraded assignments before you are ready for graded quizzes/exams. The quiz questions will be directly from the ungraded assignments you practice, with modified numbers. Read the file “Class Rules and Q&A” for more details (posted in the “Announcements” folder on the course website)
  3. It is the place for you to seek online tutorials through interactive resources that help you know what to do, how to do it, and if you did it right. As a result it will help gradually build your confidence into the course.
  4. It is the place where you access the digital version of the textbook, if you prefer to read e-text.

Group Case Project

The group case project will be assigned after we finish all course materials. The class will be divided into groups based on the active enrolment by that time. Each group is expected to conducta case analysis and write a case report. Group will be formed on random basis.

The reports are due at 11:59pmtwo business days before the final exam (for example, if the final exam is scheduled on August 14, the group project is due on August9 at 11:59pm). A late submission will result in 20% penalty per 12 hours.

More details will be provided when the groups are formed and assignments are given.

Exams

There are one midterm exam and one final exam. Both last three hours. Both contain conceptual and computational multiple-choice questions, as well as comprehensive problems[SP1].
