CCRPI Goal:
North Forsyth High School will increase our overall CCRPI index score from 82.8 to 85.0 by focusing on achievement, progress and the achievement gap.
SMART Goal:
Achievement: We will increase the average (9th Literature, American Literature, Algebra, Geometry, Physical Science, Biology, US History, and Economics) percentage of students scoring as proficient learners from 40% to 45% and distinguished learners from 13% to 15%.
Progress: We will increase our percentage of students meeting typical/high growth in 9th Grade Literature and American Literature from 64% to 69% and Algebra and Geometry from 59% to 64%.
Achievement Gap: We will increase our percentage of points earned in Gap Size/Gap Progress from 67% to 69%.

Departments will implement writing strategies which in all content areas. Strategies will include summarization, technical writing, lab reports, collaborative writing, research based writing, constructed response on formative and summative assessments, narrative writing tasks, and DBQ units. / If students practice a variety of writing strategies, then they will improve their performance on the ELA End of Course Milestones as well the Math Milestones which requires students to explain their answers. / August - May / Writing rubrics

Data teams will monitor the implementation and progress of these goals during planning meetings. Department chairs will report out progress on a quarterly basis.
Academic / Instructional Goal:
North Forsyth High School will increase student opportunities for college and career readiness by embracing a growth mindset in the following areas:

SMART Goal:
a)  We will increase the percentage of 9th graders who take the PSAT from 21% to 25% and 11th graders from 30% to 35%. We will also increase the percentage of graduates taking the ACT from 44% to 47% and the SAT from 65% to 67%.
b)  We will increase the percentage of total enrollment in AP courses by 5% (2015-16 1,136 to 2016-17 1,193) and the percentage of students taking AP exams from 77% to 80%.
c)  We will increase the percentage of students participating in the Governors Honor program at the State interview level from 36% to 39%.
d)  We will increase the percentage of students completing a pathway from 79% to 81%.

Departments will make parents and students aware of the significance of students taking the PSAT/ACT/SAT through email blasts with testing dates, providing students with information through classroom guidance and Instructional Focus, social media, parent nights, and using the NFHS Website and ItsLearning to market opportunities. / If parents and students are made aware of the significance of taking the PSAT/ACT/SAT, then there will be an increase of students participating in the test. / August - May / Classroom guidance time and planning

Collaboration between vertical teams will take place throughout the school year. Teachers will conduct content collaboration through electronic resources, student programs, and face-to-face meetings. Review quarterly attendance rates and monitor student progress towards graduation.
