Qualifications

  1. Current State of Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Special Education Endorsement preferred
  2. State of Michigan eligible for a Special Education Supervisor or Director approval
  3. Exceptional experience, knowledge and competency with special education programs and services, curriculum and instruction, supervision, verbal and written skills, professional development, data-based program and decision making, school law and policy, and parental and family collaboration

Job Description

The Special Education Supervisor will provide day to day leadership for coordinated efforts and activities in meeting the needs of students receiving special education programs and services, their staff, and community.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Provide day to day leadership for programs and services
  2. Coordinate, develop and implement policy and procedures to meet the needs of the Cooperative for Special Education Services
  3. Coordinate, develop and implement professional development to meet the needs of the Cooperative for Special Education Services
  4. Maintain compliance of programs, services, and IEPs as outlined in the Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education and IDEA within the Cooperative for Special Education Services, and out-district center programs
  5. Maintain compliance and eligibility for Medicaid grant for Cooperative for Special Education Services
  6. Assist with Federal, State, County and Local Auditing and Compliance activities
  7. Any other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education

Compensation

Salary range begins at $75,000 but will be enhanced based on experience and educational attainment. Customary and attractive benefits and insurances.
