Dear Chatham Park Parent:
The Haverford Township School District is offering a unique opportunity for musically talented 4th and 5th Grade boys and girls to participate in a District Elementary Choir. Students in this group must also be members of their own school chorus, serving as good role models throughout the year. The group will perform at a District Elementary Concert and Choral night.
Please note that the District Elementary Choir will meet on a different day this year. We will meet on TUESDAYS from 3:10 to 4:30 at the MIDDLE SCHOOL. A bus will transport the students to rehearsal and return them to their neighborhood after rehearsal. Choir will begin on October 7th. The last performance is in the middle of March.
An audition, consisting of vocal range, pitch matching, and singing a familiar song, will be held for each interested student at Chatham Park School Music room on Thursday, September 18th after school. We are going to have sign-up times so that your child will know what time they should be in the music room. You will need to provide transportation home after the audition.
If you know your child cannot make this audition, here are the other schools audition dates.
• Chestnutwold will be on Friday, September 12th.
• Coopertown will be on Tuesday, September 16th.
• Lynnewood will be on Monday, September 22nd.
• Manoa will be on Tuesday, September 23rd.
If your son or daughter enjoys singing and is interested in performing with an exceptional group, we encourage him/her to audition. We are looking forward to an exciting and productive year.
