POLICY TOPIC DESCRIPTION

SELECTING TEXTBOOKS AND INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: A plan for selecting appropriate textbooks for students will be implemented.

POLICY STATEMENT

During textbook adoption cycles:

1.  A committee will be formed with teacher/parent representation.

2.  We will review the curriculum being adopted that year and determine which product best meets the Program of Studies and National Standards being taught at Donald E. Cline Elementary.

3.  Samples will be presented to the staff for their input and approval.

4.  A textbook plan will be completed.

5.  Completed textbook plan will be forwarded to the Board of Education for approval.

6.  Once approved, the textbooks will be purchased.
