SECTION A: School as a Catholic Community
- what is special about your school?
 - if I walked around your school, what would tell me it was a Catholic school?
 - I see the school has a Mission Statement, what is that for? Do you understand what it means?
 - what happens when someone new joins the school
 - Who do you turn to if you are worried about something?
 
- how does your school work with your local parish(es)
 - how does your parish priest help you in school
 - you are part of the diocese of Portsmouth, what does that mean?
 - when do you get together with other schools – locally, in the diocese?
 - how does the school support those in need – locally, in diocese, in England, worldwide
 - what other Catholic schools do you know?
 - how does your school celebrate the different cultures in your school? (you may need to explain what is meant by other cultures)
 
SECTION B: Curriculum RE (see also guidance for pupil conferencing)
- Why do you think we have RE lessons? Is it important to study religious education?
 - What do you think of RE lessons? Tell me something interesting you found out or did in an RE lesson.
 - How do you know if you are doing well?(use this question to lead into discussion on marking, assessment, targets etc.)
 - What do you do if you need help with your RE?
 - What are you working on at the moment in RE?
 
SECTION C: Spiritual and Moral Development
Spiritual Development
- when do you pray together? … is this important to you?
 - how do you like to pray? are there any special places you can go to pray?
 - what is meant by the liturgical year?
 - what part of the Mass do you like most? why?
 - can you tell me about a time when your class or school came together to worship together and you through it was something really special
 - when you pray together who takes the lead
 - do children in the school ever spend a whole day together thinking about their relationship with God?
 - do you think the school helps bring people closer to God? how? who?
 - where and/or when do you feel specially close to God?
 
Moral Development
- If you do something wrong, what happens? (in class, in playground– link to sanctions – lead onto discussion about the school’s approach to reconciliation)
 - is your school a just (fair) school?
 - How do people help each other in the school?
 - how do your teachers help you know what is right and wrong?
 - how are pupils rewarded for doing well in their work or elsewhere? (use to start discussion on rewards)
 - What are your school rules? How were they decided upon? Do they work? Are there any other rules you think we should have?
 - who do you look up to in the school?
