ANTI-BULLYING POLICY

REPUBLIC ACT NO 10627

AN ACT REQUIRING ALL ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS TO ADOPT POLICIES TO PREVENT AND ADDRESS THE ACTS OF BULLYING IN THEIR INSTITUTION

Pursuant to Dep.Ed Order No. 68.,s.2012(Anti-Bullying Law), Cristiano L. Ladot Sr. Elementary School adheres to the guidelines promulgated in compliance to wit:

A. RATIONALE

On September 12, 2013, Republic Act No. 10627, entitled “An Act Requiring All Elementary and Secondary Schools to Adopt Policies to Prevent and Address The Acts of Bullying in their Institutions” was signed by President Aquino, officially placing executive imprimatur on the Bill passed by the 15th Congress.

Also referred to as the “Anti- Bullying act of 2013”, the law defines the act of bullying as “any severe or repeated use by one or more students of a written, verbal or electronic expression, or a physical act or gesture, or any combination thereof “that is “directed to another student”. Furthermore, such use must have the effect of “actually causing or placing the latter in reasonable fear of physical or emotional harm or damage to his property; creating a hostile environment at school for the other student; infringing on the rights of the other student at school; or materially and substantially disrupting the education process or the orderly operation of the school. “Anti-bullying law has been institutionalized since 2013. The Department of Education has forwarded its child protection policy through the weaving of school-based child protecting laws that enables the school to have a framework of disciplinary actions regarding bullying and to protect the children in general.

B. OBJECTIVE OF ANTI-BULLYING LAW
