The handwriting page will come home Tuesday and will be due Friday.

Continue to practice the formation and sounds of the letters learned so far throughout the week.

Reading:

I will continue assessing the students using the Developmental Reading Assessment.

Continue to practice the identification of capital and lowercase letters, letter sounds, sight words learned so far, and identifying & writing their numbers.

We will continue to build stamina by reading independently with our book bins and reading folders each day in our special chosen spots. The children have been doing a great job with this.

Your child will continue to exchanging books and bring home new books in his/her reading folder.

Writing:

We will begin our lists and labels unit.

Math:

We will begin chapter 5 this week which includes addition.

The packet that came home on Monday is for you! The flash cards are words that we will be covering this chapter. There are also a few partner games to play for fun.

Please reinforce writing numbers 0-10 at home.

Show and Tell:

Letters l or h

Tuesday and Wednesday

Behavior:

We will continue to review our classroom rules as needed and use our new and improved behavior chart. So far it’s working great! Poor behavior will not be tolerated. Please reinforce at home good behavior in class (sitting in his/her seat on the rug nicely, listening when someone is talking and showing respect and keep his/her hands to himself/herself.)

Students are continuing to fill up their buckets on an individual basis for kind acts and good behavior.

Handwriting: Letter l and h

Reading:

**Review sounds learned so far: You say the sound, they give you the letter and vice versa. Students should be practicing identifying the uppercase and lowercase letters of the alphabet too.

Learned so far: t, b, i, o, u, c, m, n, a, g, f, d, s, e, r, p, j, k

Read each night!

Books will be on one side of their reading folder that they can read at night. Like I stated above, feel free to read aloud to your child. He/she can read any easier books or the guided reading books that we worked on together in class.

Their sight words will be on the other side. Please review those daily and move them to the “learned” side once your child knows them. This folder goes back and forth to school each day.

Practice writing your name with the first letter being a capital letter and the rest lowercase.
