IBARAKI OSAKA JAPAN 2016

W.D.F. ASIA PACIFIC CUP

We arrived on the Tuesday around lunch time to our hotel.

Accommodation was very good, clean and tidy and the food was ok, did take some getting use too.

Wednesday was a look around Osaka and where they held the world expo in the 70’s, which was an eye opener. To see what happened back then.

The AP cup delegates was held at 4.00 pm local time at that was followed by the

Meet and greet with a light snack, and of course catching up with old friends and making new ones.

Thursday was the opening ceremony which was very good.

I could see from the start that this would be a great tournament for us to the way the team was practicing 2 men & a lady on 2 boards next to each other, and all other teams practicing on separate boards around the room.

Then onto the days play our first game was against Iran winning all games teams 3 doubles and 6 singles making it a great start for each group.

Second game against Hong Kong winning the teams in 38, 35 & 32 darts x 1001.

All 2 doubles with Peter and Raymond losing 3 – 1 and 5 singles, with Peter’s game against Prince Shek a highlight going 5 legs and the longest game was 18 darts , but unfortunately Justin lost to FB Leng 3 – 2 in great darts.

Onto Japan won the team’s game 3 - 1, and all 3 doubles in the singles all the men won their games, but unfortunately both Natalie & Corrine lost their singles 3 – 1.

Last game of the day was against Korea winning the teams, all 3 doubles and all 6 singles and only losing a couple of legs.

Friday was our last game against Macau winning the teams 3 doubles and all 6 singles in a steady display.

Onto the knockout finals with the team topping the group undefeated with Korea to play in the semi’s on Saturday.

All 3 doubles top their groups, as well as the in the men’s singles, but in the ladies Natalie top hers and Corrine finished 2nd, that meaning they were both on the same side of the draw.

Corrine & Natalie won their game against Korea and would now take on Japan in the final.

Adam & Justin won both their games and went through to Saturday’s final, Peter & Raymond won their quarter final game but lost to the Japan pairing in the semis.

Onto the singles as I said earlier Corrine & Natalie both won their first games and meet in the semis with Corrine taken that game to move onto the single final against Suzuki of Japan in the final.

Onto the men Justin, Peter, Raymond & Adam all won the first knock out games and also their quarter final games except for Raymond losing to Japans Alba

Justin defeated Alba to move into the final and Peter defeated Adam to play off Justin.

The finals on the Saturday, we were all looking forward to this with great expectations, and it didn’t disappoint.
