Scholastic Book Club

Dear Families,

Reading is probably the most important skill your child will ever develop. Studies have show that children who read do better in school… and go on to do better in the adult world too. But for kids to become skilled motivated readers, they need to see books as part their lives—not just as part of the school day. Real reading success comes when teachers and families work together, and that is why I’ll be send home Scholastic Book Club this year.

Building your child’s very own home library is the first step in boosting reading excitement and reading confidence. Scholastic Book Clubs are an easy, fun, and an affordable way to get started. Each monthly Scholastic Book Club features quality children’s literature, activities, software, and reading-related items at low prices. You may place the orders online or with the paper-order form and the books are delivered right here to the school.

If you choose to place an order using the paper hand-out, please cut out the order form. Next, put your child’s name on the top of the order and clearly label the items that you wish your child to receive. Next, write a check payable to See Saw Scholastic Book Club and the amount (CASH IS NOT ACCEPTED). Put the check and order form in an envelope, labeled “Book Order” and into their take-home folder.

Ordering Online

To place an order using the Internet:

1. Go to the following website: www.scholastic.com/parentordering

(Or Go to our Class Website and click on the page that says online ordering.)

2. Type in the username and password:

Class User Name: MrsBeebesFirstGradeClass

Password: beebe

3. Use the information below to access the Scholastic Book Clubs Web site.

- Browse the titles with your child, and place your order with your credit card.

- Your order will come to me, and your credit card payment will go directly to Scholastic's secure server. There's no need to send money to school.

- After I submit the entire class's order to Scholastic, your order will be delivered to our classroom for your child to take home.

* Remember, placing your online credit card order is completely safe and secure. * Ordering online is the most convenient way to use Scholastic Book Clubs. You can order anytime, right up until the online order due date.

Also, with Scholastic Book Clubs, we earn Bonus Points that help bring free books and resources into the classroom This means that you can help make your home and our classroom more productive learning environments at the same time. And this month, our class can earn additional FREE books, just for trying this online ordering service.
