Scholarship Criteria for The Naomie Higgins Scholarship Fund

Purpose: The Naomie Higgins Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to individuals seeking higher education at either a college, university, or trade school and is based on demonstrated academic achievement, completion of this form, participation with YFTL as either a volunteer and or player, and an express interest in pursuing a degree or certificate from a higher education institute.

Criteria:Individuals eligible for assistance must be either starting or continuing their education at a trade school, college, university, or military branch/institution for the fall 2017 term. Consideration will be given to academic achievement, completion of this form, participation with YFTL as a volunteer and or player, and an express interest in pursuing a degree or certificate from a higher education institute. Individuals should submit a scholarship application on the form provided. The YFTL Scholarship will review each application and vote on the 2 winning participants annually. Individual must have played or volunteered their time with YFTL in the 2016 and or 2017 season. Individual must have had a “C” average or, greater on most recent report card. Individual must show proof of acceptance to a trade school, college, university, or military branch/institution. Individual must attach a copy of most recent report card.

Guidelines: Scholarships will be awarded on an annual basis during the month of June and disbursed at such time as well.

Amount:There will be 2 awards given out. Each scholarship awarded will be in the amount of $300.00.

Renewal process: This scholarship is not renewable. Previous scholarship recipients cannot re-apply.

Special circumstances: The YFTL Scholarship Committee reserves the right to amend awards based off of lack of qualified applicants.
