DIANA L. HAYES is associate professor of systematic theology at Georgetown University. She obtained her S.T.D. at the Catholic University of Louvain in 1988. Her areas of special competence include Black, Womanist, Latino/a theologies of liberation, and comparative world religions in the U.S. She is co-editor of Taking Down Our Harps: Black Catholics in the United States (Orbis, 1999) and author of Were You There? Stations of the Cross (Orbis, 2000). She is currently completing three books: Introducing Womanist Theology (Sheffield); Forged in a Fiery Furnace: African American Spirituality (Orbis); and Will the Circle Be Unbroken? The Need for Interreligious Dialogue in the Black Community (Continuum).
