Flexibility for construction site traffic
Horstmar, April 2016 – With the S.PR Bau platform semi-trailer, Schmitz Cargobull offers a trailer especially developed for transporting freight unaffected by weather, and goods with high point loads. Open platform semi-trailers are often a suitable transport solution for construction sites, where transport tasks are as varied as the materials required such as sacks of cement, aggregates, machines, paints, insulation material and large pre-finished concrete components.
To complete as many of these ‘all-weather’ transport tasks as possible, the S.PR Bau is equipped with removable dropsides. If these are not required, they can be stowed away in a special pallet box, where they are protected. This box is equipped with roller rails that allow the dismantled dropsides to be inserted easily and securely. No additional tool is needed for quick conversion to a flatbed trailer. The four dropsides can be removed just as quickly as the central stanchions, corner stanchions and the tailgate. Only the sturdy bulkhead remains. The body components are therefore always at hand, and can be quickly mounted again if necessary. Transporting empty pallets in the stowage box is also no problem, and the roller rails are securely protected in the pallet box by a sturdy cap.
With the S.PR Bau, eight additional rows of stanchion pockets can also be ordered as an option. With the help of stanchions, bulky loads can be securely fastened. Additional, reinforced attachment points for load-securing equipment supplement the load-securing options. Customers can also modify their vehicles to meet their needs with a broad range of optional extras. These include an integrated, orange flashing beacon to identify long loads, an extendable warning sign on the side, and lighting equipment for wide loads, along with pallet boxes and storage options for additional load-securing equipment. This makes the S.PR Bau the ideal trailer for delivering building site materials.
