Map – Overview

Map – Detailed

Phasing of Works

Phase / Area / Works Description / Start Date (approximately)* / Finish Date (approximately)*
1 / Reconstruction of carriageway (approx. 350mm deep). / Wednesday 8th November 2017 / Wednesday 6th December 2017
Phase 1 Traffic Management:
·  The section of Steephill Court Road highlighted in red, requires the concrete to be broken up and removed. The area will then be subject to an excavation and reconstruction of up to 350mm deep and then resurfaced.
·  Drainage investigation works will be undertaken during this phase and works will be completed as required.
·  During this phase, there will be no through traffic in Steephill Court Road between Castle Court and Undercliff Drive.
·  Pedestrian access will be maintained.
2 / Kerbing / footway works and the installation of ground movement monitoring equipment. / Monday 20th November 2017 / Wednesday 6th December 2017
Phase 2 Traffic Management:
·  Due to the 100mm overlay of asphalt in Castle Court, the kerb and footway will have to be adjusted.
·  Once these works have been completed, monitoring equipment will be installed in both Castle Court and Steephill Court Road, so that we can continue to monitor any ground movement in the area.
·  These works will be undertaken under 2-Way Traffic Lights, therefore vehicular access will be maintained.
·  Pedestrian access will be maintained.
3 / Approximately 100mm surfacing overlay of asphalt. / Thursday 7th December 2017 / Friday 8th December 2017
Phase 3 Traffic Management:
·  The section of Castle Court highlighted in blue, will be subject to a regulating 100mm overlay of asphalt. This will improve the ride quality for passing vehicles and seal the carriageway, which will reduce the rate of further movement.
·  The section of Steephill Court Road will be resurfaced.
·  As these works, will mean that there will be no vehicular access into or out of Castle Court for these two days, we have reduced the working hours to 09:00 – 15:30.
·  Please take this into account when making personal arrangements such as appointments and grocery deliveries.
·  Pedestrian access will be maintained.
·  Parking restrictions will be in place on Steephill Court Road so that the movement of the machinery plant is not impeded.
