Schedule for Trip to China in Spring 2006

--- School Delegation in South Florida

Day 1 -- Arrival

Dr. Peng Lu welcomes the Delegation at the BeijingAirport (3 pm)

  • Check in International Hotel -- Beijing International Hotel (5-star)

Add: 9 Jiangguomennei Dajie, Beijing, Tel: 10-65126688

  • Brief sightseeing of the city.
  • Dinner around 6:30 pm at Quanjude Restaurant for Beijing Duck
  • Walk on the Wangfujing Street and experience the night Beijing

Day 2 -- Badaling Great Wall and Jiuhuashan Resort and Spa

  • Leave the Hotel at 8:30am
  • Go to Badaling (about 2 hours) for the Great Wall, and have lunch there
  • Afternoon: SummerPalace
  • Evening: Jiuhuashan Resort and Spa (40-munite from Beijing) for water treatment, massage and Chinese medicine (wear bathing suite)

Day 3 -- Beijing Sightseeing and leave for Qingdao

  • Leave the Hotel at 9:00am
  • Beijing city sightseeing: Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City
  • Lunch: Variety of wild mushrooms
  • Afternoon: Visit the China National Office for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (HanBan). Meet with the Director of HanBan, and discuss important partnership with this organization
  • Have dinner with HanBan officials

Day 4 – Go Shopping in Beijing and leave for Qingdao

  • Check out the Hotel at 8:30am (leave luggage there)
  • Go shopping in a special market from 9:00 to 12:00
  • Flight to Qingdao in the afternoon
  • Check in hotel -- Qingdao Surf Resort (5 star)

  • Welcome dinner hosted by the Secretary General of Qingdao Government[1] and the Vice Mayor for Education

Day 5 -- Business in Qingdao

  • Leave the hotel at 8:30
  • VisitQingdao Education Bureau. Discuss cooperation with the Director of Education Bureau.
  • Lunch with the officials at the Office
  • Afternoon: Visit the site for a possible joint middle school in Qingdao. Meet with the partner and investor.

Day 6 – Continue the Business in Qingdao

  • Morning and afternoon: Open for visiting schools in Qingdao to meet the need of our individual delegates. It may include Qingdao 39th School, the performance-magnet school in China. The Headmaster is scheduled to lead a delegation to visit Miami this spring.
  • Evening: Our appreciation dinner and reception party, guests including Qingdao governmental officials, Education Bureau officials, and top administrators at our related schools in Qingdao.

Day 7 –Sightseeing

  • Leave the Hotel at 8:30
  • Morning: Sightsee this beautiful coastal city where will be the 2008 Olympic water games.
  • Lunch: Qingdao seafood
  • Drive to Lao mount, a beautiful famous mountain in China for Daoism.
  • Dinner: Special seafood at fishman’s house

Day 8 – Continue Sightseeing and leave for the US

  • Check out the hotel at 9:30.
  • Sightseeing in the morning and drive to the airport for flight to Beijing at noontime and connect to the flight to Miami in 4:30pm
  • ArriveMiami in the same day around 10:35pm

[1]Qingdao is one of the most beautiful industrial costal cities in China with a population of 7.2 million, GDP ranked the 14th in China, and the second largest port in China with 5.1 million containers shipped in 2004, which is about 11 times of the Miami port. Qingdao is the sister city of Miami.
