SCC Student Art Show 2016

PLACE & DATES OF SHOW: The show will be held on SCC’s Albemarle Campus in the Snyder Building’s Learning Resources Center (LRC). The show opens on
Monday, March 14, 2016, and closes on Friday, March 18, 2016. The show will be open to the public for viewing during regular LRC hours.

ELIGIBILITY: SCC students are eligible to participate and may submit up to three entries each. The work must be the artist’s original design and completed within the past two years.

CRITERIA: Entries must be wired for hanging. (No sawtooth hangers.) The show committee reserves the right to exclude entries deemed inappropriate, works not properly prepared for display, or works that require special installation or care.

CATEGORIES: Categories include, but are not limited to: oil, acrylic, watercolor, colored pencil, pen and ink, collage, photography, and digital art.

SALES: Your entry form should indicate a sale price or NFS (Not For Sale). Items sold may be picked up by the purchaser at the end of the show with proof of purchase. Sales will be handled through the individual artist and SCC will assume no responsibility for payments or sales agreements.

ENTRY FEE: There is no entry fee for this show.

JUDGE: To be determined.

(1) Best of Show - 1st Place

(2) Best of Show - 2nd Place

(2) Best of Show - 3rd Place

(4) Honorable Mentions (3 awards)

DELIVERY OF ENTRIES: Entries must be hand delivered to the Snyder Building’s Learning Resources Center (during regular LRC hours) on Monday, March 7, 2016, through Friday, March 11, 2016. No entries will be accepted after 12:00 p.m. on
Friday, March 11, 2016.

OPENING AND RECEPTION:
Tuesday, March 15, 2016, from 10 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

Artists, their families and friends are encouraged to attend. The general public is invited as well. Awards will be presented at 11 a.m.

REMOVAL OF ENTRIES: Friday, March 18, 2016, during regular LRC hours.

If necessary, works can be picked up the next week. We request that all works remain on display for the duration of the show and be picked up promptly on Removal Day. Works of art not picked up in a timely manner will be considered
a donation to SCC. No liability will be held for these pieces unless previous arrangements are made.

LIABILITY: The sponsors will exercise the best of care in handling all works. However, submission of an entry is at the artist’s own risk and SCC will not be held liable for any loss or damage to any entry while it is in the possession of the College or its agents.
