The project involved the migration of a SeeBeyond (another EAI tool) based framework for the interchange of information relating to Employees, Payroll and leaves of Air New Zealand to WBIMB 5.0.

The employee information is stored on people soft, the financial information on SAP and leave balances and other information stored on legacy applications such as Jade and DATACOM.

The information exchange between the various systems were designed and implemented as WBIMB interfaces with file based and message based interfaces. Custom nodes such as Cron Node and FTP nodes were used in this regard.

The challenges of the project involved the understanding of as-is java code (used by SeeBeyond) and re-writing the same using MB API and invoking of the same from ESQL.

MRM message modelling using TDS and XML type messages.

The project involved the integration of a CICS backend with a JAVA based front end. The front-end interface was XML defined messages and the backend interface was COBOL (predefined Copybook structure).

WBIMB was used as the Mid-Tier solution to perform transformation and routing of message between the front-end and back-end.

Logic pertaining to the routing and transformation were designed as message flows using the Websphere Message Brokers tool kit.

Responsibilities:

Part of the architecture team, which was responsible for framing the architecture to be used by the project.

Playing the role of senior developer in the effort on the middle ware tier to implement MQ Series+ Websphere Message Broker (WBIMB) (EAI tool) for the project.

Worked with WBIMB extensively in designing message flows, ESQL programming, and development of a JMS framework used to interface between the java application and Websphere MQ.

Involved in MQ Series Administration for setting up the WMB environment by configuring queue managers, queues, channels and other Websphere MQ objects for the development environment.

GMSS is a client Server system that interfaces with any other group application. The GMSS enables other group applications to send a text message to be scanned. The message is scanned by the GMSS and the results of the scan are returned to the calling application.

The same interfaced between a COBOL based application called EP (E-Pay) and an application called Circosoft, which had an XML interface.
