Sberbank CZ Board of Directors Welcomes Two New Members in October

Prague 2 October 2013 – On 1 October 2013, Sberbank CZ welcomed two new members to the bank’s Board of Directors: Martin Muránsky (Chief Risk Officer), and Karel Soukeník (Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operational Officer). The new Board of Directors of five members began formed in the middle of this year with an aim to increase the bank’s competiveness in the Czech market.

Martin Muránsky (40) has over 17 years of experience in the banking industry and financial market with a focus on retail and corporate banking and financing small and medium enterprises. Prior to joining Sberbank CZ, Martin Muránsky worked in the Vienna head office of Raiffeisen Bank International and at GE Capital in the USA, Ireland and the Czech Republic where he acquired vast experience in risk analysis.

At Sberbank CZ, Martin Muránsky will be responsible for implementing a robust risk management culture that is to run across all levels of the bank and become a natural part of everyday activities of all employees. “At Sberbank CZ, I would like to develop modern risk management methods and implement the most recent tool – Enterprise Risk Management,” says Martin Muránsky, explaining the future trend of Sberbank CZ.

Martin Muránsky is a graduate of the University of Economics in Bratislava, majoring in Economics and Business Management. He is an active member of several international professional organisations and is fluent in English, German and Hungarian. At Sberbank CZ, he is replacing Pavol Komzala who left the bank at the end of his term. “I am moving to the parent company Sberbank Europe in Vienna where I will continue my activities in risk management, expanding my focus from the Czech Republic to the entire region of the Sberbank Europe group,” adds Pavol Komzala.
