Tournament Rules
Start Time
1. We will try and start all tournaments by 8 pm. Any member who has not arrived prior to the start of the tournament will have 1 hour to arrive or the remainder of their chips will be removed from play unless they have called to say they are still on their way. Any missing player will be charged an ante every hand until their arrival.
Starting Chips and Seating
1. Every player will start every tournament (except finals) with $1000 in chips.
2. The dealer button will start at the highest ranking player at each table to start play.
Blinds
Blinds will start at $2 for SB and $4 for BB. Blinds will be raised every20 min. for the first 4 blind levels than every 30 min for the remainder of the tournament.

Players who are late will be required to pay an Ante until their arrival.
· Antes will be equal to the Small Blind
· When in a blind position, Ante and the blind are paid
Eliminations
1. When a player is “all-in” they must declare they are "all-in". If they loose the pot, they are eliminated
2. When eliminated, players must have their name put on the elimination sheet along with the name of the player who took them out. (If their name is not put on the sheet, they will be penalized 5 pts)
3. In the case of closely timed eliminations, rank will be decided using the following criteria:
a) The player who started the hand with the most chips gets higher rank with this exception:
I. A playing member outranks a sub.
4. Players who are not in attendance and therefore are paying antes will only receive cards provided they can cover both the ante and blind when required. If they chip out on an ante, they are eliminated without being given a hand and therefore no bounty chip is played. Antes are paid before blinds. If they can cover the ante and only part of their blind they still receive their cards and must “show down”.
Bounties
1. Each player you eliminate comes with a Bounty and is worth 2pts.
2. Since bounties can’t be split, if a pot is split between 2 or more people the bounty chips will go to the person who had the best starting hand. If still tied then the person closest to the left of the Button wins the chip.
3. Players who had a sub play for them will not get credit for any bounties won by the sub.
4. Winners of previous tournaments will have a cash bounty. To win the bounty, said player must be eliminated prior to the final table. If said player makes the final table they will have protected their bounty and retain it for the next tournament. If they protect the bounty 2 tournaments in a row, the win the cash. If they win any tournament while holding the cash bounty, they also will win the cash bounty.
Dead Positions
We will follow the “Dead” rules. For example:
Small Blind (SB) is Eliminated
If the SB was eliminated during the previous hand, then the button would move to the empty spot (essentially just stays at the same position as the previous hand) and the two players to the left of the button would be SB and BB.
Big Blind (BB) is Eliminated
If the BB was eliminated during the previous hand then the button moves to the left as usual. The position immediately to the buttons left will be empty and therefore the player to the left of the dealer would be BB and there would be no SB.
Both Blinds Eliminated
If both blinds were eliminated from the previous hand, the button will move through each empty spot. This ensures nobody misses their BB. Therefore, when button is moved to first empty seat, there is no SB (empty). When it moves to next empty seat, there will be both SB and BB paid.
Table Equalization
- Play will stop at any table once they have 4 or fewer players. If a table can be eliminated, play will stop and I move players at my sole discretion. If not, the clock will be paused and the remaining tables will play one more round of deals to reduce number. If still not able to eliminate a table I will equalize tables. Again, at my sole discretion. Play will resume at time left at the current blind.
2. When necessary, tables will be equalized before play resumes after break.
Final Table
- The final table will start when there are 8 or fewer players remaining.
2. The final table will start at the next blind level unless it is determined that less then half of the 30 minutes was used at the previous blind level. In this case, the previous blind level will be used for another 15 min. to start the final table.
Top Hand
From tournaments 1 to 8, we will keep track of the top hand for the year. When you have a top hand, you will write your name, hand and date on the board. Each time somebody gets a better hand, they will put their information on the board (leaving the previous top hand information as well). The person who ends up with the best hand by the end of the last tournament prior to the Finals will receive up to $50 depending on the prize reserve for the year.
