Professional Learning Facilitator

The SASS Reference Grouphas a position vacant for a full timeProfessional Learning Facilitator to coordinate and promote the professional learning for SAS staff.The Professional Learning Facilitator role will be up to7 October 2016.The successful full timeapplicant would work hours equal to a School Administrative Manager position (31 hours 25 minutes per week), based at the Hurstville SASS Training Centre and would retain right of return to their school.

The Professional Learning Facilitatorcoordinates SRG projects and programs and liaises with SASS and Department of Education representatives to promote SRG programs. The role requires the Professional Learning Facilitator to establish and build sound working partnerships with all stakeholders involved inSRG professional learning programs.

The Professional Learning Facilitatorreports directly to the SRG Chairperson/s and also reports to the SRG committee each term at SRG meetings. The Professional Learning Facilitator works autonomously, following the strategic targets set out in the SRG Management Plan, to ensure SASS professional learning program targets are addressed.The Professional Learning Facilitator is supported by the Educational Services TeamExecutive Directors’ nominee,aLearning and Leadership Coordinator. The Professional Learning Facilitator is required to communicate regularly with the Coordinator.

Position Criteria

  • Demonstrated commitment to SASS professional learning.
  • Capacity to contribute to the development and facilitation of SASS professional learning workshops.
  • High level communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Confidence and skill in using a range of ICT in promotions, presentations and reports to Department of Education personnel.
  • Efficient financial management skills including experience in developing and monitoring budgets.
  • Capacity to use the SAP system for financial management and reporting.

SASS Professional Learning Facilitator - Statement of Duties
  • Organise dates, venues, catering, facilitators, and course materials for workshops.
  • Preparing advertisements and submission forms for SchoolBiz.
  • Management and development of online registration for courses on MyPL@Edu and downloading participant information and the evaluation process at the conclusion of SASS PL activities.
  • Regularly communicate with participants and facilitators regarding details of workshops.
  • Liaise with facilitators regarding course materials and preparing course materials.
  • Organise separate SASS professional learning conferences with SRG members on SASS school development days in terms one, two and three including liaising with presenters, costing, proposals, advertisements, approvals, online registrations, confirmation e-mails.
  • Accurate record keeping.
  • Liaise with Schools Finance Directorate to co-ordinate and deliver finance programs for AFS & Rollover.
  • Record and collate data to support the preparation of SAS Staff Professional Learning Report and various reports required by High Performance unit at the end of each reporting cycle, in consultation with Executive Director’s Delegate.
  • Assist the SRG Chairperson and Treasurer with the preparation of the SAS Staff Professional Learning Report.
  • Liaise with presenters and SRG members to plan, develop and deliver programs for SAS Staff including Leadership development programs for SAM’s and aspiring SAM’s, and other training targets identified in the SRG Management Plan and DEC Strategic Plan.
  • Organise SRG meetings, including catering, video conferencing, handouts and notes etc.
  • Support SRG and sub-committee members to plan, co-ordinate and prepare workshops.
  • Communicate and support the development of active SAS Staff networking groups.
  • Data entry of courses for the SRG Term PL calendar.
  • Production of SRG newsletter four times a year.
  • Prepare reports for the newsletter and take photographs at professional learning programs/events, for promotional purposes.
  • Maintain Intranet page information.
  • Process expenditure on SAP.
  • Process participant Direct Debits through SPINS program.
  • Prepare annual Professional Learning Calendar.
  • Prepare annual operational budgets.
  • Managing email accounts.
  • Developing and implementing TAFE programs.
