APPOINTMENT

Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Society Chandigarh U.T., (Registered under the Societies Registration Act-1860) invites applications latest by 7th July, 2006 from eligible candidates in the prescribed format for recruitment of teachers on contract basis up to 31.3.2007 (to be extended as per requirement) for filling up the following posts at fixed remuneration as per detail below:

AGE LIMIT as on 1.1.2006

For the posts of Masters/Mistresses (sr. no. 1 to 8) the upper age limit is upto 30 years and for the posts of JBT teachers (sr no. II) the age limit is between 18 to 27 years.

Age Relaxation & Reservation of posts

Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBCs, Govt. Servant, Women, Widows/deserted women, Ex-servicemen and Physically Handicapped and reservation of post for different categories will be as per the rules of Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan Society, UT, Chandigarh. The society follows rules/instructions of Chandigarh Administration in this regard. No candidate will be accorded age relaxation and benefit of reservation unless he/she attach the requisite certificate issued by competent authority along with his/her application for recruitment to the post.

Essential Qualification for Masters/Mistresses

4 years integrated bachelor degree course with relevant subject with at least 45% marks in aggregate.

OR

Bachelor degree of a recognized University with relevant subjects with at least 45% marks in aggregate and B.Ed degree recognize by NCTE with relevant teaching subject with atleast 45% marks in aggregate comprising the subject combination as follows:

Junior Basic Teachers

A) I) Senior Secondary School Certificate (10+2) or intermediate or its equivalent with at least 45% marks in aggregate

ii) Diploma or certificate in Basic Teachers Training of not less than 2 years duration recognized by NCTE with at least 45% marks in aggregate

OR

JBT Certificate / Diploma of not less than 2 years duration with at least 45% marks recognized by the Chandigarh Administration.

General Conditions

  1. The candidates are required to submit application in the prescribed application form which can be obtained from the office of the Project Director, Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan Society, UT, Chandigarh , Additional Deluxe Building, 1st floor, Sector 9, Chandigarh and Govt. Model Senior Secondary School, Sector-22, Chandigarh between 9 AM to 1.00 PM or can also be downloaded from the web site of Chandigarh Administration i.e. chandigarh.nic.in and the same duly filled alongwith attested copies of all testimonials and passport size photograph should reach the office of the undersigned by 7.7.2006 positively.
  2. The application should be accompanied with a Non-refundable fee of Rs.200/- for General Category, OBC/Ex-Servicemen and Rs.50/- for SC and Physically Handicapped candidates through bank draft payable at Chandigarh in favour of the Project Director, SSA, Society UT, Chandigarh. Candidates should note that the fee sent through IPO/Money Order/Crossed Cheque/Currency note or the Treasury Challans etc. will not be accepted and such applications will be treated as having received without fee and therefore, will not be considered. Separate fee is to be paid for each post applied.
  3. The refund of fee will not be allowed in any case.
  4. Prescribed educational qualifications are minimum & mere possession of the same does not entitle the candidate to be called for interview. Where number of applications received in response to this advertisement is large, selection committee may restrict number of candidates for interview to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualifications & experience and also by holding a written test.
  5. Experience certificate which is not counter-signed by District Education Officer or by the competent authority of the respective State school Education Board. Will not be considered. Teaching experience gained after acquiring minimum essential qualification prescribed for a post will only be taken into account.
  6. Applications received without fee or incomplete are liable to be rejected straightway and no correspondence shall be entertained in this regard.
  7. Candidate desirous to apply for more than one post should submit application for each post accompanied with the prescribed fee and necessary enclosures for each post in separate envelopes.
  8. Envelopes containing the application must be superscribed in bold letters as “ Application for the post of______”
  9. The number of vacancies being advertised can be changed as per requirement at any stage.
  10. The written test will be held in Chandigarh only and the candidates will appear for written test and interview on their own cost.
  11. The society may/may not take any scrutiny of applications for eligibility of candidates before the written test and the applicants will be allowed to appear in the examination/written test etc. at their own risk. The applicant therefore must carefully read the eligibility conditions and prescribed essential qualifications etc before submitting his/her application(s). His/her candidature will be purely provisional subject to eligibility being verified after the test and /or interview consequently. Because a candidate has been allowed to appear for the written test and/or interview, it should not be presumed that he/she is eligible for appointment to the post.
  12. The decision of the Society about the mode of selection to the post and eligibility conditions of the applicant shall be final and binding. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
