Experience

Scholarly & Technical Communications Officer, Institute for Advanced Technology in the Humanities, University of Virginia

Responsible for editorial, communication, and management tasks that support IATH’s scholarly mission. Primary duties include writing, editing, and publishing digital and print publications of scholarly books and projects. Work with IATH faculty Fellows, directors, and staff to develop and publish project specifications, reports, etc. Act as liaison between IATH Fellows and technical staff. Help manage planning of conferences and workshops.

Accomplishments:

  • Managed abstract and paper submissions and produced and edited Program and Abstract Book for CAA 2009 conference, Williamsburg, VA
  • Produced and edited content, managed and edited graphic design, and took on project management responsibilities forcreating Ancient Rome 3D layer on Google Earth(2008)
  • Technical editor, designed and implemented print edition and produced electronic editionofBeyond Illustration (eds. Bernard Frischer and Anastasia Dakouri-Hild, 2008)
  • Designed and implemented print edition and produced electronic editionofThe Horace’s Villa Project: 1997-2003(eds. Bernard Frischer et al., 2006-2007)
  • Generated and edited scholarly content, designed, and produced IATH Best Practices Guide to Digital Panoramic Photography, print and electronic editions (2007)
  • Organized the Summit on Digital Tools for the Humanities (2005)

Managed bilingual digital scholarly project for Dr. Anne Kinney, IATH Fellow and University of Virginia Professor of Chinese Studies. Responsible for managing project tasks, technical development, and development of bilingual web site. Oversaw production of XML versions of Chinese and English texts and managed and trained graduate student workers. Helpedproduce grant reports from the Mellon Foundation and the Luce Foundation.
