Masters degree in Citizenship Education in Europe (Faculty of Humanities)

This course is designed to be taught on-line to professionals working with children and young people. The course is delivered on-line in a part-time or full time mode.

The course consists of a series of modules. Four modules are taught on line. One module is a residential two-week Intensive Programme.

The Department of Computer Science and Systemistics Antonio Ruberti has instituted a Masters degree (“Laurea Specialistica”)of Computer Science Engineering (Computer engineering) in English. The course offers a high-level training in a very actual professional area, as well asa precious opportunityfor comparison and collaboration between Italian students and students from all over the world. Students will acquirea high-level knowledgein the main fields of Computer Science Engineering. They will be able to integrate the working world as public and private organizations’ consultants. The Master course is open to students with Bachelor Degrees in Computer Science Engineering, Computer Science or other scientific areas.

Masters degree in Polymer Engineering and Science

The Master of Science is jointly organized by Sapienza Università di Roma and Basell Polyolefins.

“Learning by doing” is the innovative training approach.The training activity will be held in Ferrara (Italy) at the “Giulio Natta” Research Centre of Basell Polyolefins.

Eligible candidates from Europe or other foreign countries should be graduated, having five years university education in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry or Chemistry.The total maximum number of students is 15. The selection of the candidates will be based on their scientific curriculum.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT: Successful candidates from outside Ferrara will receive a partial financial support by Basell Polyolefins, to complement their own contribution to living expenses.

Enrolment University fee: 2,000 € (two thousand EURO), in charge to Basell Polyolefins.

Masters degree in Public Administration & Business Management for Sustainable Development (Faculty of Engineering)

The First level Masters degree in "Public Administration & Business Management for Sustainable Development" is a one year University Masters degree, awarding 60 ECTS, open to national and international students who have achieved an ordinary Bachelor degree (three years) and with good knowledge of the English language.

The Masters course aims at training officers of public sector and private companies able to connect local occupational and productive situations to national and international ones, as well as to consider these situations within European programmes specifically aimed at growth and development on a regional and global level.

The course aims at providing a thorough understanding of how the process of globalisation affects private (particularly small and medium enterprises and third sector) and public institutions working in a local context.

The main objective is to provide students with the necessary tools to manage the "globalisation challenge" as seen from the local dimension, and strengthen the capacity of local partners to access, participate and cooperate in the global market.

Given the highly specialised content and methodology, the Masters programme offers training oriented towards policy, management and planning within public institutions, departments of firms and enterprises who offer service management and professional category association involved in international partnership initiatives within the framework of the global action for the promotion of sustainable development.

Training will be achieved in a highly professional environment, in contact with international level experts, public and private sector directors and university professors.

The Masters course is characterized by semi-intensive teaching. Lectures, of four hours each, will be held in English four days a week (usually on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) mainly in lecture rooms of the Faculty of Engineering of the "Sapienza" Università di Roma.

CIRPS will deliver the Masters degree in association with CeSPI, Centre for International Political Studies, involved in the development of the second semester. CIRPS also relies on the network of universities with which it cooperates, and on foreign partner universities, starting from the Federico Caffè Centre of the State University of Roskilde, in Denmark, and public and private organizations with which it has established connections in Latin America, Asia, Eastern Europe and Africa.

The maximum number of participants is of 45 positions. The enrolment fee is set at 6,900.00 euros.

Masters degree in Lighting Design (Faculty of Architecture Ludovico Quaroni)

The MLD was born in response to all the increasing petitions, not only from Italy, but from the specialists in the projection and project management areas in the lighting field. The goal is to educate professional lighting designers and lighting project managers, to be able to cope with technological challenges and the expressive complexity of the urban and contemporary projects.

This years’ edition will start on April 7, 2008. Applications will be accepted until the 31stMarch 2008.

For foreign students who do not know the Italian language simultaneous translation is provided Italian-English/English-Italian. You can access scholarships awarded by the University, The Foreign Ministry, or the Regions.

Masters degree in Social Sciences and Humanitarian Affairs

This course is a joint-initiative involving UNESCO, Sapienza Università di Roma, Israeli and Palestinian Universities and Research Institute and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Master is a one year course structured in two phases (February – 14 October 2008; 15 October – 20 December 2008), awarding 72 ECTS, open to students from Israel, Palestine and Italy who have achieved a Masters degree.

Lectures will be held, in the first phase, one day a week in the premises of the Hind Husseni College in Jerusalem, delivered by Palestinian and Israeli professors; in the second phase courses will be offered by Sapienza Università di Roma five days a week for five hours a day.

The Master aims at providing a deep understanding of most challenging issues related to social sciences and humanitarian affairs through analysis of the mechanisms regulating regional, national and international institutions.

Graduates of Master will be able to work as consultants with Non Governmental Organizations, national and international organizations and governmental entities with focus on policy-making and implementation, advocacy, problem-solving, community services and development.
