Sandusky County Safety Council Information Sheet

Our mission is to prevent and mitigate personal injury to employees and economic losses to member businesses and the community that arise from preventable health and safety incidents.

We seek to accomplish our mission by providing a forum to:

  1. Increase safety awareness through the examination of current safety & health issues.
  1. Encourage members and area businesses to use rules, procedures and practices daily that result in a safe and healthy working environment for all their personnel.

We coordinate monthly programs for our members and the community throughout Sandusky County. Our monthly meetings are advertised via e-mail and at the Chamber website,

Dues & Membership Information

Membership requirements are:

  1. Dues paid in full by August 30 of each year. If not paid by October 1, membership will be dropped from our rolls with the BWC. New members who join after Sept. 30 will have their dues pro-rated.
  1. Attend at least 10* of the scheduled regular monthly meetings. Membership is by company and not by individual name. This allows the company to send an alternate in case the person who usually goes cannot attend. *Note: Please see “FY18 Safety Council Rebate Flyer” document for new guidelines for safety council workers’ comp premium rebates.

Dues are $225.00 per year for one person to attend, $205.00 if your company is a member of the Chamber of Commerce of Sandusky County. If a company wishes to send more than one person to each meeting, the cost is $120.00 per year for each secondary membership from the same company. Invoices for dues will be mailed electronically to member companies in early June each year.
