Presented diversity information, and lead a group discussion with for the

Michigan Social Studies Conference for Michigan teachers. The group

consisted of about twenty teachers with various degrees of experience

working with diversity in their classroom and with administration.

Worked as a team with Reverend Jim Lee to establish a diversity program

for the church.

I acted as a group co-facilitator three days per week for Sandra Parker, MSW.

I co-facilitatedgroups composed of men, women and mixed gender groups. I also

co-facilitated three and five day off-site psychological intensives. My responsibilities were to assist in emotional processing of clients, provide appropriate feedback and guidance during group sessions.

2009ETOM

In the summer of 2009 I completed the continuing education program

offered by Garry LaBrand of Grand Rapids Community College for

certification in the development and instruction of on-line courses. This is

a Blackboard based course that teaches best practices for on-line teaching

and course development.

2003-2004IMAGO

I have completed a two year program of training created by Harville

Hendricks and Helen LaKelly Hunt that was designed to teach

Psychotherapists methods of working in a therapy setting with couples,

families and groups. The program teaches techniques in listening, communication, behavior changes and family work.

2005-2006EMDR – Eye Movement, Desensitization and Reprocessing

I trained in this process to add another psychotherapy technique for

working with clients.

2003-2004Life Coach

I have completed course work for certification as a life coach, and have

found this training to be valuable when working with clients and students.

The methods help them to have a greater sense of empowerment and

happiness by identifying areas of desired change, and guidance in the

change implementation.

2004SCAO Mentor Training

In 2004 I completed professional mediation training through the Oakland

Mediation Center in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. This was a 40 hour

program designed to train professionals in the step by step process of

mediation as an alternative process for disagreement resolution. I’ve

found these tools effective in helping others to negotiate conflicts in their

personal and professional lives.
