Since Nov’07National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC), Delhi Senior Consultant

(HMIS)

National Health System Resource Centre (NHSRC) has been set up under NRHM as an autonomous registered society, to channelize technical assistance and capacity building support to the States for strengthening public health systems. The NHSRC is also mandated to contribute to national strategic health planning and programme design.

Current Role:

Conducting indicator based analysis of National, States and Districts data.

  • 642 districts and 35 States’ annual & quarterly analysisare being done regularly using HMIS data from National Web portal.
  • These are being used for District Health Planning.

Interpreting data and using information. Checking data quality and validating rules.

Rationalizing and standardizing data collectedacross various administrative levels.

Developing the core set of indicators required for different levels including the Block, District, State andNational.

Helped in preparingdata sets reporting formats and data elements & indicators dictionaries.

Looking after capacity building of health staff on various levels on the use of the HMIS, with a specific focus on the use of information to support local action and mechanisms for higher centres to provide feedback to the sources of data.
