Inside Electrical Apprenticeship Program. At the time an application is completed, the applicant must provide each of the following:

  • A VALID Driver's License
  • A Certified Copy of Birth Certificate
  • An Official High School Transcript
  • Proof of Successful Completion of Algebra I (Electrical applicants only)

This unique program is the only one of its kind in the floor covering industry nationwide that can assist young workers in getting a college education and creating the foundation for a lifelong career.

  • Apprentices must be at least 18 years of age, in good physical condition and drug free, and have a high school or GED diploma.
  • Apprentices learn everything from the technical aspects of installing commercial flooring, to the skills needed to move into project management - such as estimating, reading blueprints, and tracking and invoicing jobs.

  • The apprenticeship school provides a five-year training program. The apprenticeship school is paid for by the membership and from state funding through San Antonio Northside Independent School District, so there is little or no out of pocket cost to an apprentice. The apprenticeship school runs from September through May from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. two nights a week. We have two different programs—HVAC and construction.
  • The minimum requirements for apprenticeship are:
  • You must be 18 years old
  • You must have a High School Diploma and transcripts, or a GED

  • We offer several different courses, but our full HVAC training course takes 8 weeks to complete. A week consists of 4 hour classes Monday - Thursday. Friday is left open for optional Study Hall time if you need it.
  • We take students who do not have any real world experience whatsoever. This includes those coming straight out of high school. We do require that each student be able to read and write and follow the course material.
