Sample Phone Script for an Organization that Has an Existing PGDC

Please modify the following script your style and use it to acquire an appointment to review the sponsorship benefits for an existing PGDC. The script will change based on whether the individual you are talking with is a current member of your PGDC.

Note: The reason it will only take fifteen minutes for the proposed phone call is that this person already understands the PGDC. All you are talking about and showing is the sponsorship opportunity by showing your site, then the demo site and talking about how you will be able to send news alerts to your PGDC members for the sponsor.

“Hi [Prospect].This is[Name]with[Organization].As you are aware, we are the host of the Planned Giving Design CenterSM here in [Region, State, or City] and I hope you’ve had an opportunity to use the new site we recently released (you know this because you reviewed the members of your site through your Host Administration tools). The new site allows us to partner with a limited number of companies [Organizations or Individuals]. This new sponsor capability on the PGDC is an opportunity for you to be seen as a [Company, Organization, or Individual] committed to the advancement of planned giving in the community. I’d like to go over the details and benefits with you and it will only take fifteen minutes. Would [Day] at [Time] be good?”

Sample Phone Script for Someone Who Is Not Currently a Member and May Not Know the Value and Proposition of the PGDC

Note: The reason this conversation will take thirty minutes is that this person may never have seen the PGDC, and you will need time to show the features of your PGDC website and the sponsor model on the demo site. The PGDC is so easy to navigate that it only takes about fifteen minutes to review the entire site and another fifteen minutes to review the sponsorship opportunity and close the sale.

“We host of the Planned Giving Design CenterSM website here in [Region, State, or City]. If you haven’t had an opportunity to use the new site we recently released, I urge you to register. We’d be more than happy to go over the site with you. Membership to the PGDC community is free. We are now seeking a limited number of [Companies, Organizations, or Individuals]with whom to partner. This new capability on the PGDC is an opportunity for you to partner with us and to be seen as a company [Organization or Individual] committed to advancing planned giving in the community.
