Golden Key Point System

What is the point system?

The point system is a means by which we can assess the participation of each of our members through an organized system of obtaining and logging points for hours of participation in chapter activities. Points will carry over for each year of membership in Golden Key and the total of these points will be used to determine the level you have reached within our chapter.

What is the purpose of the point system?

To provide tangible and obtainable incentives in exchange for being an active member in our chapter.

Who is eligible for participation?

Any Golden Key member may participate in the point system.

What are the benefits of the point system?

10 or more points = an “Active Member.” Active members can purchase honor cords for $10 (regularly $14). Active members will be recognized at the end of the year social.

25 points = a “Key Member.” Key members are recognized at the end of the year social and receive a certificate of appreciation and a free honor cord.

How are points recorded?

There will be attendance sheets at all meetings and service projects. It is the responsibility of the member to sign up and receive credit for participation.

How are points earned?

10 pointsChair an event or a committee for an entire semester

5 pointsSubmit a workshop proposal for International Conference

5 points Attending Regional of International Conference

3 pointsServing on a committee

2 pointsViewing an online Golden Key webinar, ~15 minutes in length, (available at goldenkey.org) and presenting a short verbal report at the next meeting.

1 pointAttend a meeting

1 pointEach hour of community service. This includes any Golden Key or non-Golden Key service project. Non-Golden Key service projects must have a completed verification form.

Verification Form

A verification form is only needed for non-Golden Key sponsored service projects. These forms can be e-mailed to the current KSU Golden Key President or brought to a meeting during the semester that the service project was completed in.
